Our Story

THE BEGINNING

Why Pinni Please Exists

Because styrofoam was never the answer.

We grew up watching our dadis and nanis make pinni in winter kitchens. Hands dusted in atta. Ghee on the counter. Gur melting slow. The smell alone could call us from across a house.

Pinni was never just food. It was medicine for new mothers. Warmth for winter. A reason to visit. A reason to sit. Something a woman made with her own hands and gave to someone she wanted to nourish.

Somewhere along the way, pinni became something you buy from a counter, wrapped in plastic, weighed out and handed over. It lost its dignity.

Pinni Please is our way of restoring that dignity.

We are two Punjabi women in Surrey, British Columbia. One of us holds the recipes — passed down from her mother and her mother before her. One of us has spent forty years building this community, matchmaking weddings, serving families, knowing every corner of this city that smells like home.

Together, we make pinni, panjiri, phirni, and halwa the way they were meant to be made. By hand. With desi ghee. With whole grains. With gur, not refined sugar. With time, because the good stuff takes time.

And we package it the way our mothers deserved — beautifully enough to gift, simply enough to buy, worthy of a Punjabi wedding table, a new mother’s nightstand, a grandmother’s kitchen.

We’re not competing with the sweet shops on 128 Street. We’re creating something that doesn’t exist yet in Canada — a Punjabi mithai brand that our daughters will hand to their daughters.

Made with memory. Made by hand. Made for you.
